DTx Company Hi Appoints Former Red Cross President Shin Hee-young as Chairman of the Board
Digital therapeutics (DTx) specialist company Hi recently held a regular board meeting and announced on the 4th that Shin Hee-young, former president of the Korean Red Cross, has been appointed as the chairman of the board.
Chairman Shin Hee-young is a leading authority in pediatric cancer treatment in Korea. Since starting the Leukemia Children's Support Association in 1990, he has led improvements in children's hospitals and blood-related projects, including the establishment of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Bank (Bone Marrow Bank) and the Seoul National University Children's Hospital School. In August 2020, he assumed the position of the 30th president of the Korean Red Cross.
Chairman Shin graduated from Gyeonggi High School, earned his master's and doctoral degrees from Seoul National University College of Medicine, and served as a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine. He also established a school at Seoul National University Children's Hospital and served as its principal for 20 years. He has held various positions including vice president and president of the Korean Society of Blood Transfusion, chairman of the Korean Society for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, vice president of research at Seoul National University, director of the Integrated Care Center at Seoul National University Hospital, and president of the Korea Hematopoietic Stem Cell Bank Association.
Upon accepting the chairmanship, Shin said, "I am confident that DTx will become a next-generation global key industry," and added, "I want to contribute to differentiating the products by leveraging my experience in the medical field."

Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Hi, explained the reason for the appointment, saying, "It is an honor to appoint former Korean Red Cross president Shin Hee-young as the new chairman," and added, "Chairman Shin has experience and achievements not only as a physician but also in administration and organizational management, which I am confident will greatly contribute to Hi's growth."
