Seo Hyowon (60th rank, Korea Exchange) was eliminated in the round of 16 in the women's singles at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. On the 29th, Seo Hyowon lost a comeback match 2-4 (11-8 11-9 5-11 4-11 7-11 9-11) to Taiwan's Cheng I-ching (14th rank) in the women's singles round of 16 held at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China. With this, Seo Hyowon concluded the tournament with one bronze medal in the women's team event.
Seo Hyowon, 36 years old this year, is effectively participating in her last Asian Games. She has represented the national team in three consecutive Asian Games since the 2014 Incheon Games and won two bronze medals in the women's team event at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games and this tournament.

Meanwhile, another women's singles national representative, Shin Yubin, defeated Singapore's Zheng Jian (70th rank) 4-0 (11-7 11-9 11-5 11-2) to advance to the quarterfinals. Shin Yubin will compete against Taiwan's Chien Tzu-yu (48th rank) for a spot in the semifinals.
