Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Online Self-Inspection for Medical Institutions and Pharmacies
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 27th that it will conduct an online self-inspection targeting 717 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in the district until November 10.
This inspection is being promoted to prevent medical accidents and create a safe pharmaceutical distribution environment by granting autonomy and responsibility to medical business operators to self-check and correct any legal violations.
The main inspection items include ▲(medical institutions) compliance with laws and establishment operation, medical advertising, reuse of disposable items, etc. ▲(pharmacies) dispensing and selling pharmaceuticals beyond license scope, compliance with pharmacy management obligations, etc. ▲(common items) narcotics storage facility-related matters, reporting of narcotics handling, etc.
Operators should directly check compliance with relevant laws using the self-inspection form sent by the Seo-gu Public Health Center, and after improving any deficiencies, submit the self-inspection form via mobile through the QR code in the guidance letter or through the Seo-gu Public Health Center website.
Seo-gu plans to conduct on-site inspections by the end of November for businesses that do not submit the self-inspection form or submit false or formal reports, and will take administrative guidance or administrative measures if violations are found.
Park Yeonju, Head of Health Administration Division at Seo-gu Public Health Center, said, “We hope that medical institutions and pharmacy operators, who directly affect citizens’ health and safety, will sincerely participate in this self-inspection.” She added, “Through the self-purification function of pharmaceutical business management and raising awareness among operators, we expect to provide high-quality pharmaceutical services to users.”
