This project, promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Information Service, is led by Bundang Seoul National University Hospital as the coordinating institution. In addition, a total of 39 medical institutions are participating in the consortium.

The consortium plans to build a sharing system for exchanging medical data through the Health Information Highway platform. Through this, medical data such as medical records scattered across various healthcare institutions will be accessible anytime and anywhere via mobile devices through the 'My Health Record App,' allowing patients to directly view and utilize their own information. Currently, patients must visit the medical institution where they received treatment to obtain their records in person, but with this platform, patients will be able to download the data in viewer form through the application and share it with medical staff, among other uses.

The consortium consists of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, along with nine tertiary and general hospitals including ▲Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital ▲Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital ▲Gil Medical Foundation (Gachon University Gil Medical Center) ▲Dankook University Hospital ▲Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital ▲Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital ▲Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital ▲Jeju National University Hospital, and 30 other hospitals and clinics. A total of 167 personnel will be deployed to build the system over approximately nine months.

As the coordinating institution, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital will establish a cloud-based central repository. Each medical institution will build databases and systems to connect with the central repository and data. All infrastructure and systems will be developed according to the international transmission technology standard (FHIR) to enable nationwide expansion to medical institutions. The transmitted medical information will be encrypted and delivered directly to users without being stored on servers, minimizing the possibility of data leakage.

Lee Ho-young, head of the Digital Healthcare Research Division at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital and project leader, stated, "If this platform enables more convenient access and utilization of personal medical records, social costs will decrease. Data-driven medical research will be further activated, ultimately making a significant contribution to improving the health level of the nation."
