Korea GM's Second Tentative Agreement on This Year's Labor Negotiations Approved with 57% Support
The second tentative wage agreement for this year, prepared by the labor and management of Korea GM, was finally approved after difficulties.
On the 26th, the Korea GM labor union announced that 57.3% of the union members who participated in the vote approved the second tentative wage agreement. A total of 6,830 people participated in this vote.
Korea GM labor and management held a total of 19 negotiation sessions from the first meeting in June until the 21st of this month. Previously, on the 8th, they prepared the first tentative agreement, which included a 70,000 KRW increase in the base salary and a one-time and performance bonus of 10 million KRW, but it was rejected in the union's approval vote. Subsequently, the union refused overtime and special work and even carried out partial strikes.
Afterwards, labor and management reached a second tentative agreement through additional negotiations. The second tentative agreement submitted to the vote on that day included an 80,000 KRW increase in the base salary and a one-time and performance bonus of 10.5 million KRW.
