Medical Benefit Seizure-Proof Dedicated Account to be Implemented from the 29th
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 26th that it will provide a medical benefit seizure protection dedicated account starting from the 29th. The seizure protection dedicated account is an account that cannot be seized for medical benefits.
The medical benefit seizure protection dedicated account can be opened at a total of 9 financial institutions. Among them, 7 institutions including Industrial Bank of Korea, NongHyup Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Hana Bank will be able to open accounts starting from the 29th. Woori Bank and Kookmin Bank plan to implement this later after revising their terms and conditions.
The seizure protection dedicated account can be opened when the beneficiary visits a financial institution and submits documents verifying beneficiary status (medical benefit card or medical benefit certificate).
After opening the account, if the account number is written on the nursing care expense payment claim form and a copy of the passbook is attached and submitted to the city, county, or district office, the corresponding benefits will be deposited into the seizure protection dedicated account.
