Judo national team member Kim Jijeong (26·Suncheon City Hall) won a bronze medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
In the bronze medal match of the women's 63kg judo event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, South Korea's Kim Ji-jeong is securing a victory against Kyrgyzstan's Adina Kochkonbayeva.

On the 25th, Kim Jijeong defeated Kyrgyzstan's Adina Kochkonbayeva by ippon in the women's 63kg bronze medal match held at the Linpu Gymnasium in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, securing the bronze medal.
At the beginning of the match, both Kim Jijeong and her opponent received one shido (penalty) each. Then, 2 minutes and 21 seconds into the match, Kim scored a waza-ari by executing a sasae-tsurikomi-ashi (propping drawing ankle throw) to bring down Adina Kochkonbayeva. Following this, Kim applied a yoko-shiho-gatame (side hold) technique to gain an additional waza-ari, winning the match.

Kim Jijeong has consistently demonstrated her skills, having won bronze medals at the Asian Championships in 2017 and 2022. In this tournament, she defeated Lebanon's Aquilina Chayeb in the round of 16 by shido win after an extended golden score battle, and in the quarterfinals, she scored a waza-ari with an ude-garami (arm entanglement) throw against Kazakhstan's Esmigul Kuylorova. Although she lost in the semifinals to Japan's Takaiichi Miku by conceding waza-ari from ude-garuma (arm throw) and kesa-gatame (scarf hold), Kim secured her first Asian Games medal by winning the bronze medal match.
