Human Resources Development Service of Korea, 'Employer Vocational Competency Development Training' Best Practice Competition
A Total of 24 Companies and Institutions Awarded Across Five Sectors Including Corporations and Training Organizations
The Human Resources Development Service of Korea held the '2023 Employer Vocational Competency Development Training Best Practices Competition' on the 25th at COEX in Seoul.
Employer training is a system where employers support the costs of education and training to improve workers' job skills. Considering the diverse education and training needs of companies, the Service provides the 'Corporate Vocational Training Card,' which offers vouchers worth approximately 5 million KRW per company to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in excellent training courses, as well as 'subscription-based remote training.' Through these initiatives, 2.74 million people received education and training last year alone. To promote participation in the system among SMEs, the Service holds an annual competition to publicize companies' best practices in education and training.
In this year's competition, after document screening and presentation evaluations of 113 participating companies, a total of 24 companies were selected as award candidates. Subsequently, except for the collective and remote training institutions, the final first and second places in other categories were decided by on-site voting from attendees.
The first-place companies in each category were ▲LS Mtron (large and medium-sized enterprises) ▲Atec (SMEs) ▲LG Electronics (new technology training) ▲Korea Social Competency Development Institute (collective training institution) ▲ENI Lifelong Education Center (remote training institution). The second-place winners, receiving the Excellence Award in each category, were Handok, Chokwang Paint, Cheongin, Korea Polytechnic University Jinju Campus, and S-Net Vocational Competency Development Institute.
First-place companies in each category receive the Minister of Employment and Labor Award and a prize of 3 million KRW, while the other companies receive the Service Director's Award and prize money according to their ranking. Going forward, the Service plans to produce and distribute a casebook featuring the best practices of the first and second-place companies in each category.
