Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station, Random Crime Prevention Activities
The Women and Youth Division of Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station recently announced on the 25th that they conducted an after-school campaign at Jeonnam Technical High School to prevent abnormal motive crimes and eradicate school violence.
It was informed that posting threatening messages such as stabbing threats can be severely punished under charges including obstruction of official duties by threats or coercion.
Foot patrols around the school were also conducted to prevent delinquent behaviors such as violence and smoking.
Home correspondence letters were sent to parents of 98 schools in the jurisdiction, urging education at home to eradicate school violence and attention to children's use of SNS.
Kang Ilwon, Chief of Gwangsan Police Station, emphasized, "With the rapid increase in school violence and abnormal motive crimes that have not been eradicated, the role of the police is more important than ever."
