Yeongsangang Cheong, Inspection of Distribution of Household Chemical Products
The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office has distributed a guideline booklet on the proper distribution of household chemical products such as air fresheners and deodorants to 709 related business sites.
The guideline booklet contains key violation details including the reporting and approval procedures for household chemical products under the Chemical Products Safety Act, mandatory labeling requirements, and prohibition of restricted phrases.
Most suspected violation cases can be prevented if business operators pay a little more attention.
For example, some labeling omissions, advertising items not reported, and use of restricted phrases.
The Yeongsangang Office prohibits the manufacture, import, and sale of products found to be in violation according to relevant laws, issues recall orders, and takes legal action.
For products banned from sale, distribution prohibition measures are requested from related organizations such as the Korea Online Shopping Association to prevent illegal distribution, and information on violating products is disclosed through the Ministry of Environment’s Household Environment Safety Information System (Choroknuri).
