Gyeongnam Bank Hosts 'Hangawi Volunteer Grand Festival' ... Also Conducts Seafood Consumption Campaign
Over 500 Employees Participate in Activities Across Local Traditional Markets,
Welfare Facilities, Mountains, and Rivers in the Region
BNK Gyeongnam Bank conducted the ‘Chuseok Volunteer Festival’ on the 23rd ahead of the nation’s biggest holiday, Chuseok.
The Chuseok Volunteer Festival was held to give back the love and support received from local residents and the community, with employees voluntarily participating in volunteer activities alongside a campaign to support local traditional markets and the fisheries industry.
About 500 participants, including Bank President Ye Gyeongtak and employees, took part in the Chuseok Volunteer Festival held across various locations such as the Masan Fish Market, local traditional markets, welfare facilities, and mountain and river areas.
Employees of Gyeongnam Bank worked up a sweat while cleaning at the Masan Fish Market public parking lot.
View original imagePresident Ye Gyeongtak and about 100 employees divided into groups and walked from Happo Waterfront Park through Masan Fish Market, Changdong, and Odongdong areas, collecting litter and trash from the streets.
They especially worked hard cleaning all floors of the public parking lot at Masan Fish Market, a popular spot among local residents.
Afterwards, employees purchased seafood using traditional market Onnuri gift certificates, delivered messages of support to market merchants, and shared a meal together at a sashimi restaurant within the fish market.
At the same time, about 100 employees from headquarters departments conducted environmental cleanup activities on the Palyongsan hiking trail and visited the Gyeongnam Senior Integrated Support Center, Masan Childcare Center, and Changwon Seongsim Nursing Home, performing cleaning inside and outside the facilities and providing caregiving assistance.
Additionally, about 300 employees from each business headquarters participated in environmental cleanup activities at locations including ▲ Changwon Jeongbyeongsan and Bonggok Markets, Changwoncheon and Bansong Markets, Changwon Jungang-dong and Yongji-dong commercial areas ▲ Ulsan Taehwagang National Garden and Sinjeong Market ▲ Gimhae Haebancheon and Naeoe-dong Markets, Yulha Stream and Jangyu Traditional Market ▲ Jinju Bibong Mountain and Jayu Market ▲ and metropolitan areas such as Ansan Jarak-gil and Yeongcheon Market during the Chuseok Volunteer Festival.
President Ye said, “I hope the Chuseok Volunteer Festival, with the participation of about 500 employees, delivers a message of hope to the local community. In particular, I hope the traditional market cleanup activities and the campaign to promote seafood consumption encourage market merchants and fisheries workers. I wish the sweat shed by our employees will help create cleaner traditional markets and fish markets that people want to revisit.”

Meanwhile, separately from the Chuseok Volunteer Festival, BNK Gyeongnam Bank is conducting the ‘Chuseok Love Sharing Project,’ delivering traditional market gift certificates and local love gift certificates worth 416 million KRW to a total of 8,320 underprivileged households in cities and counties of Gyeongsangnam-do and Ulsan region by Chuseok (September 29).
