Gochang-gun Selected as the Only Local Government in Jeonbuk for Excellence in Proactive Administration

Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 22nd that it was selected as the only outstanding institution in Jeollabuk-do in the "2023 First Half Local Government Proactive Administration Performance Inspection Results" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and received a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.

Previously, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluated 243 local governments nationwide to establish and promote a culture of proactive administration, selecting one metropolitan local government and six basic local governments as outstanding local governments.

Gochang-gun was the only district in Jeonbuk Province to be selected as an 'Excellent Institution' based on the inspection results of proactive administration performance in the first half of the year.

In this performance inspection, efforts to promote proactive administration were evaluated based on indicators such as achievements in proactive administration best practices, selection of outstanding public officials, incentives granted, promotion of best practices, and pre-consulting performance.

Earlier, the county established the Proactive Administration Operation Ordinance in 2019 to lay the foundation for fostering a culture of proactive administration, strengthened the pre-consulting system, and expanded protection and support for proactive public officials through activation of proactive administration exemption.

In particular, efforts were made to boost morale among public officials by selecting outstanding proactive public officials and granting the highest performance grade to the top awardees as differentiated incentives.

Additionally, the proactive administration culture was revitalized throughout the county by spreading best practices through various promotions on the Gochang-gun website and SNS.

‘Healing Culture City Gochang’ was also selected as an outstanding case in the ‘2023 Jeollabuk-do Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition’.

County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We will continue to favor public officials who work proactively and establish a culture of proactive administration by activating various protection and support systems to ensure that proactive public officials do not suffer disadvantages, creating a vibrant Gochang with administration that resonates with the residents.”
