Survey of 1,295 Employees at Yujin Group Affiliates
8 out of 10 Say "Have Plans to Move"
This year, office workers are expected to spend more on expenses during the Chuseok holiday compared to last year.
According to Eugene Group on the 20th, a survey was conducted on 1,295 employees of affiliated companies including Eugene Group, Eugene Investment & Securities, Dongyang, Eugene Home Center, Eugene Logistics, and Eugene Hanil Fibers regarding their plans for this year's Chuseok holiday. The average expected expenses amounted to 860,000 KRW, an 8.9% increase from last year's 790,000 KRW.
Among the expenses, the item considered most burdensome was "allowance for parents (39.6%)", followed by "holiday gift costs (20.4%)" and "allowance for nephews and nieces (7%)".
When asked "Do you have plans to travel during the Chuseok holiday?", 79.6% of respondents answered "Yes." The purposes of travel included "visiting hometown and parents' house (63.5%)" and "domestic and overseas travel (18%)". This contrasts with the 2020 Chuseok holiday during the height of COVID-19, when 69.9% of respondents said they would "stay at home with family."
