A Worker in His 50s Falls to Death at Goseong Shipyard in Gyeongnam
A man in his 50s died after falling while working at a shipyard within the Joseon Special Zone in Donghae-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.
According to the Tongyeong Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 20th, Mr. A, a man in his 50s, was dismantling a scaffold installed 28 meters high inside the cargo hold of a ship under construction at around 11:35 a.m. on the 19th, when the support connected to the top fell, causing him to fall along with it.
Mr. A suffered severe head and back injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital, but he passed away at 1:15 p.m. that day.

The Tongyeong Maritime Police are conducting an investigation into the accident jointly with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
