Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Urges Installation of Vehicle Fire Extinguishers
Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station announced on the 18th that it is actively urging the installation of vehicle fire extinguishers, which can be useful for early fire suppression, ahead of the long Chuseok holiday.
Vehicle fires spread quickly and can lead to secondary accidents and casualties, requiring special caution.
Currently, fire extinguishers are mandatory in vehicles with seven or more seats, but starting from December 2024, vehicles with five or more seats will be required to intentionally install fire extinguishers.
Especially this Chuseok holiday, which is extended to six days including the temporary holiday on October 2nd, long-distance driving and increased vehicle use are expected, making it important to have fire extinguishers for safety inside vehicles.
Vehicle fire extinguishers should be selected with the label "for automobile use," installed or kept in an easily accessible place inside the vehicle, and it is also important to learn how to use the extinguisher in case of emergency.
