Gwangju City Selects 83 'Youth-Friendly Part-Time Job Sites'
Workplaces Practicing Labor-Management Win-Win... Benefits Including Water and Sewage Fee Support
Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Gi-jung) announced on the 18th that it has selected 83 youth-friendly part-time job sites in 2023 in collaboration with the Gwangju Youth Labor Rights Center.
This initiative was promoted to improve the labor environment by securing public awareness of providing a stable working environment for youth workers.
When selected as a youth-friendly part-time job site, businesses will receive support until next year's survey, including ▲ subsidies for water and sewage fees (approximately 800,000 KRW for businesses employing 15 hours or more per week, approximately 350,000 KRW for businesses employing less than 15 hours per week) ▲ support for volume-based waste bags ▲ certification stickers (only for new businesses), along with promotional support for the business both online and offline.
Youth-friendly part-time job sites are businesses in Gwangju that employ at least one youth aged 24 or younger, guaranteeing labor contracts, minimum wage, weekly holiday pay, and respectful treatment, thereby practicing labor-management coexistence.
In response to the recent increase in ultra-short-term employment of youth workers, Gwangju City will differentiate subsidies this year based on whether weekly holiday pay is provided by employing 15 hours or more per week.
