33 Daegu City Council Members Pledge Integrity Ahead of Chuseok… Chairman Iman-gyu: "Let's Make Daegu Transparent"
The Daegu Metropolitan Council (Chairman Lee Mankyu) conducted the "2023 Anti-Corruption Integrity Education" ahead of Chuseok.
The integrity education held on the 15th at the council was targeted at all 33 Daegu city council members and the Secretariat staff. The council stated that the education was conducted to establish proper integrity ethics and to realize a trustworthy image of the council for the citizens.

View original imageBefore the special lecture began, all Daegu city council members signed an integrity pledge containing five integrity practice tasks, and Councilor Ryu Jongwoo read the pledge aloud as a representative, reaffirming their commitment to practicing integrity.
Following this, a special lecture was given by Jeong Seonghwa, a professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Integrity Training Institute. The lecture explained laws related to integrity, such as the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, and the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, focusing on case studies. It also included a session to understand the recent issues of abuse of power and the characteristics of the MZ generation.
After a Q&A and discussion on integrity-related violation cases that may occur during legislative activities, the education concluded.
Lee Mankyu, Chairman of the Daegu Metropolitan Council, said, "The 9th Daegu Metropolitan Council has been doing its best to establish necessary systems for performing clean legislative activities, including enacting the 'Operational Guidelines for the Conflict of Interest Prevention System for Public Officials of Daegu Metropolitan Council' last September."
