Dongmyeong University, Early Admission Competition Rate 5.57 to 1 ... 0.95p Increase from Previous Year
Dongmyung University closed its early admission for the 2024 academic year on the 15th, recording an overall competition rate of 5.57 to 1 with 7,842 applicants for 1,408 spots within the quota. This marks an increase of 0.95 points compared to last year's 4.62 to 1.
The highest competition rates by department were ▲ Occupational Therapy in the General High School Curriculum track at 15.75 to 1 (12 spots, 189 applicants), Social Welfare at 13.64 to 1 (114 spots, 191 applicants) ▲ Nursing in the Interview track at 13.94 to 1 (49 spots, 683 applicants), and the College of Beauty Arts at 12.20 to 1 (15 spots, 183 applicants).
The newly established Emergency Medical Technology department (General High School Curriculum track) recorded 11.27 to 1 (15 spots, 169 applicants) ▲ K-sports Taekwondo and Soccer departments (General High School Curriculum track) recorded 7.40 to 1 (5 spots, 37 applicants).
In the first-ever nationwide College of Companion Animals established last year, ▲ Companion Animal Health Science (Creative Talent track) recorded 8.88 to 1 (8 spots, 71 applicants), ▲ Dog Grooming and Behavior Correction (Creative Talent track) recorded 9.40 to 1 (5 spots, 47 applicants), and ▲ Companion Animal Industry Department (Interview track) recorded 9.25 to 1 (4 spots, 37 applicants).
President Jeon Ho-hwan evaluated, “The bold campus innovations such as attracting a university animal hospital, the continuous strengthening of Do-ing (Challenge, Experience, Practice) education centered on 체덕지 (Body, Virtue, Wisdom) rather than 지덕체 (Wisdom, Virtue, Body), and the establishment of departments related to sports culture and arts have garnered great interest from the MZ generation, resulting in this year's improved competition rate compared to last year.”
President Jeon added, “We will make further efforts to be selected for next year’s Ministry of Education Glocal University 30 project by expanding the recruitment of international students.”
Do-ing (Challenge, Experience, Practice) Dongmyung University recently achieved an A grade in the Ministry of Education’s University Innovation Support Project’s education innovation strategy, an A grade in its own performance management, and also received an A grade in this year’s new project evaluation for the Regional University Revitalization Project (supporting university specialization fields). It also ranked first in public employment rate among private universities in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam with over 1,000 graduates.

The university provides full scholarships covering four years of study to all freshmen in five departments of the ICT Convergence College: Computer Engineering, Game Engineering, Game Graphics, Future Automotive, and Electrical Control.
