Gwangju Science Museum to Host Science School in September
The National Gwangju Science Museum and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology will hold the September Science School on the 20th at the Gwangju Science Museum Imagination Hall.
This lecture, titled "Where is the strongest light in the world?", will invite Senior Researcher Yoon Hyuk from the GIST Institute of Advanced Optical Technology to explore how light is created, the principles and reasons behind producing strong light, and the strongest light in the world.
Senior Researcher Yoon earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in physics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). After serving as a research fellow at the Institute for Basic Science's Ultra-High Power Laser Science Research Division, he is currently a senior researcher at the GIST Institute of Advanced Optical Technology.
His main research areas include the interaction between ultra-high power lasers and matter, generation of coherent light with new properties, and propagation of high-power lasers in the air.
