Won Jong-cheol, CEO of Samwon Printing, Founder of Printing Promotion Foundation, Awarded Silver Cultural Medal
23 Individuals Awarded Government Honors for Contributions to the Development of Printing Culture
Won Jong-cheol, CEO of Samwon Printing who led the establishment of the Korea Printing Promotion Foundation, will be awarded the Silver Crown Cultural Medal. On the 14th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will present government awards to twenty-three individuals who have contributed to the development of printing culture at the Small and Medium Business DMC in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Printing Culture Day. CEO Won has been engaged in the printing industry for 48 years, achieving modernization of management and various technological developments. In particular, he strengthened the competitiveness of the printing culture industry by creating an eco-friendly printing environment. He also served as the president of the Korea Printing Culture Association and worked hard to nurture professionals by donating scholarships.
The Presidential Citation will be awarded to Bang Yoon-duk, CEO of Samsung I&B, who reduced the marking defect rate in OMR card reading through technological development. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism evaluated, "He contributed to cost reduction and quality enhancement of computer form printing materials and led management modernization by introducing smart factories." The Prime Minister’s Citation goes to Lim Hyung-taek, CEO of Kyungil Comprehensive Printing, who produced modern ledgers using offset printing. Offset printing is a printing method using printing plates and rubber rollers. The ministry added, "He led the establishment of standardized printing technology for ledgers and office printing and improved the quality of single-volume printed materials, and developed school administrative forms to modernize the education administration information system."

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Citation will be given to twenty individuals including Kwon Young-geun, CEO of I&PI, Kwon Hyuk-bae, General Director of Terra Books, Kim Dae-hong, CEO of Mirae P&P, and Kim Sang-bae, President of the Korea Culture, Sports and Education Association.
