This project was planned to raise awareness of the importance of forests as a solution for carbon absorption amid the worsening climate crisis. It will be held from the 15th of this month to October 15th at the 8th-floor Culture Hall of Shinsegae Department Store in Daegu.
Since hosting its first photo exhibition in Korea in 2010, National Geographic has only displayed photos taken overseas.
However, through this collaboration, this year a separate exhibition space titled "Korea, Sustainable Travel" will be created, showcasing photos related to forests and trees in Korea, including Jeju Soesokkak and Yangju Nari Park, selected from the Korea Tourism Organization's Korea Tourism Photo Contest winners.
At the exhibition hall, explanatory texts emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly tourism and that Korea's beautiful forests are a precious heritage to be passed on to future generations will also be displayed.
