140 Busan Students Participate in the 13th National Commercial Competition
From the 14th for three days, 140 students from 14 commercial, information, and tourism-related schools in the Busan area will participate in 15 events at the 13th National Commercial Competition held at Gyeongnam Information High School and other locations in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and organized by the Gyeongnam Office of Education, this National Commercial Competition aims to discover and nurture students talented in the commercial and information fields. Students who won awards at the ‘Busan Commercial Competition’ held last May will represent Busan in this competition.
The students include 72 individuals and 9 teams, totaling 148 participants, who won 16 gold, 26 silver, and 39 bronze medals in 12 competition events such as accounting practice and 4 contest events including the Startup Club Expo at the Busan competition. Among them, 140 students will participate in 11 competition events such as accounting practice and 4 contest events including the Startup Club Expo.
Hwang Ji-young, Director of the Digital Future Education Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “The annual National Commercial Competition has become a foundation for the development of commercial-related schools,” adding, “We hope this competition will be an opportunity for participating students to fully demonstrate the skills they have honed and take a step forward in their growth.”

Last year, the Busan Office of Education achieved its best-ever results at the Daejeon competition, winning one Minister of Education Award, six gold medals, seven silver medals, and sixteen bronze medals.
