Goheung-gun, Supplementary Budget of 1.01 Trillion Won Confirmed

Focused Investment in Goheung's Transformation, Development, and Regional Economic Revitalization

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the 2nd supplementary budget for 2023 was approved at the 2nd plenary session of the 318th Gohung-gun Council temporary meeting on September 7, with a total scale of 1.01 trillion KRW.

This supplementary budget increased by 82 billion KRW compared to the 1st supplementary budget and was organized focusing on revitalizing the stagnant local economy, government policies, and design service fees for major projects to be promoted next year.

Looking at the increase in expenditure budget by sector, it was organized in the order of ▲Agriculture, Forestry, Marine, and Fisheries sector 35.4 billion KRW ▲Land and Regional Development sector 19.7 billion KRW ▲Culture and Tourism sector 7.1 billion KRW ▲Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Energy sector 6.7 billion KRW ▲Environment sector 5.7 billion KRW ▲General Public Administration sector 3.7 billion KRW.

Major budget items include ▲27 billion KRW for the creation of a drone experience playground ▲4.5 billion KRW for compensation for land development of the fishing vessel construction support center ▲1.5 billion KRW for land acquisition costs for the public rental housing residential complex for returnees to farming and fishing villages ▲1 billion KRW for the creation of Space Gohung G-Gallery ▲1.7 billion KRW for land acquisition costs for expanding parking lots at Gohung traditional market ▲1.4 billion KRW for living waste transportation and disposal service fees.

Governor Gong Young-min stated that this 2nd supplementary budget is the first time since the opening of Gohung-gun that a budget of over 1 trillion KRW has been organized, and this is the result of all public officials below the department heads of the county office actively visiting central government departments and the National Assembly without rest to secure the maximum national funds.

A county official said, “Despite difficult financial conditions such as a decrease in revenue resources, Governor Gong Young-min, who is from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has demonstrated his capabilities by managing the county’s finances stably. As a budget expert, he accurately read the government’s fiscal policy direction and secured available resources through expenditure restructuring of projects that are difficult to execute within the year or expected to be carried over.”

Governor Gong Young-min of Gohung said, “We organized an expansive budget to promote change and development in Gohung, establish a population base of 100,000 in 10 years, and revitalize the stagnant local economy. We will make every effort to ensure that the budget needed by the residents is executed properly and timely.”
