Jinju City Supports Mortgage Interest for Newlywed Couples' Home Purchases
Reducing Housing Cost Burden and Supporting Stable Local Settlement
Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province will promote the "Second Half Newlywed Couple Housing Purchase Loan Interest Support Project" from October 4 to 27 to help newlywed couples achieve housing stability.
This project supports interest within 3% of the housing purchase loan balance (up to 50 million KRW), with a maximum of 750,000 KRW per half-year. Applicants are recruited in the first and second halves of the year, and in the first half of this year, interest support was provided to 64 households. The second half will cover interest from January to June 2023.
The support targets newlywed couples who purchase and live in a house in Jinju City and meet the following criteria: ▲marriage period within 5 years ▲combined annual income of the couple 80 million KRW or less ▲exclusive area of 85㎡ or less ▲housing price of 400 million KRW or less.
The application period is from the 4th to the 27th of next month, and applications can be submitted by visiting the Housing and Landscape Division at City Hall or online through the "Gyeongnam Baro Service."

A city official stated, "This project is expected to alleviate the housing cost burden for newlywed couples and contribute to securing stable homes," adding, "We will do our best to help settle residents in the region and address the low birthrate issue through such policy projects."
