Yeosu Regional Children's Center Receives 'Highest Excellence' in Ministry of Health and Welfare Advanced Evaluation
On-site Evaluation of 17 Indicators Including Child Rights and Programs
Improving Service Quality, Publicness, and Transparency Enhancement
All 12 local children's centers in Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, received the highest A grade in the 'Local Children's Center In-depth Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The evaluated local children's centers include LH Haengbok Kkumteo Saebit, Gaedo, Kkumjaengi, The Sarang, Dolsan, Dolsan Jungang, Dong Yeosu, Museon, Bureum, Ansan, Eoul, and Yeosu Local Children's Center, totaling 12 locations.
The in-depth evaluation of local children's centers, conducted every three years by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, aims to assess the services provided to children to improve service quality, enhance publicness and transparency, and secure basic data for improving related systems of children's centers.
The evaluation was conducted across four areas: △Children's Rights, △Programs, △Individual Child Support, and △Operational Foundation, targeting 17 indicators including △Guarantee of Children's Rights, △Specialized Programs, △Emotional Support for Children, and △Accounting Management.
A panel consisting of two experts and one responsible public official visited the local children's centers in person and conducted the evaluation based on the pre-submitted online self-assessment forms.

A city official stated, “The excellent evaluation results for all institutions subject to this year's evaluation are the outcome of the centers' best efforts to provide comprehensive welfare services, including protection and education for the healthy development of children, and linkage with guardians and the local community.” He added, “We will continue to strive to create a ‘safe and happy care environment for children’ through ongoing guidance and inspections.”
