Changnyeong-gun Holds Workshop on Sustainable County Administration Development and Policy Innovation
Divided into Five Areas Including Regional Extinction and Population Decline
Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will hold a policy development workshop for about 50 public officials over two days starting from the 6th.
This workshop is being held to strengthen the work capabilities of employees for the development of the county administration, including responding to the rapidly changing administrative environment and deriving sustainable policy directions.
The workshop was divided into five areas: ▲local extinction and population decline, which have emerged as serious national issues ▲culture and tourism for revitalizing the local economy ▲economy and industry ▲health and welfare to improve the quality of life of residents ▲and administrative services.
On the first day, using facilitation techniques, a method for deriving ideas through collective intelligence, participants drew a 2030 future blueprint for Changnyeong-gun and derived policy directions by sector. On the second day, lectures on the Local Decentralization Balanced Development Special Act and practical matters related to local government transfer tasks were conducted.
This workshop was held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, and under the guidance of professional instructors, active discussions and participation by public officials are expected to strengthen and develop the competitiveness of the county.

County Governor Seong Nak-in said, “Although we are facing difficult situations such as the risk of local extinction due to population decline and economic stagnation, more than ever, fresh ideas and capabilities are needed to overcome these difficulties and create an opportunity for further growth.” He added, “I hope that through this workshop, efforts will be made to develop various policies that can help the development of the county.”
