The campaign was a joint effort by Jindo Police Station, Jindo Office of Education, Jindo County Office, Jindo Elementary School, the Model Drivers Association, and the Green Mothers' Association to raise awareness of school violence incidents and to carry out proactive school violence prevention activities after the summer vacation reopening.
In particular, to prevent the posting of notices predicting violent juvenile crimes, which has recently emerged as a social issue, visual promotions were conducted using banners and placards. Promotional materials and leaflets were distributed to students attending school to raise awareness of the social seriousness of posting notices predicting violent juvenile crimes. Additionally, active guidance was provided to report school violence by calling 117 or consulting with the School Police Officer (SPO), which received great response.
Park Mi-young, Chief of Jindo Police Station, stated, “We will do our best to make Jindo County a crime-free area for posting notices predicting violent juvenile crimes and to create a ‘safe school’ where youth can enjoy a school life free from school violence.” She added, “We will continue to eradicate school violence through discovering various policies in collaboration with related organizations in the local community.”
