Hyosung Participates in Han River Environmental Conservation Activities on 'Resource Circulation Day'
Forty-five employees from Hyosung Group, including Hyosung Corporation, Hyosung TNC, Hyosung Heavy Industries, and Hyosung Chemical, participated in environmental conservation activities on the 6th at Banpo Hangang Park in Seocho-gu, Seoul, in celebration of 'Resource Circulation Day.'
Resource Circulation Day is designated by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Waste Association on September 6 every year to raise awareness about protecting the global environment and the importance of resource recycling. On this day, the Seoul Volunteer Center and the Future Hangang Headquarters held the ‘No Plastic Hangang! All Together Festival (Day of Joint Action)’ at Banpo Hangang Park, conducting eco-friendly practice challenges with Seoul citizens.

View original imageForty-five Hyosung Group employees also participated in this event, engaging in plogging (a combination of ‘pick up’ and ‘jogging,’ meaning picking up trash while walking or running) at Banpo Hangang Park, solving environmental quizzes, and sorting the collected waste.
An employee who took part in the event said, “I didn’t realize there was so much trash in Hangang Park when I passed by without paying attention, but after collecting trash through plogging, I found there was more than I expected,” adding, “I feel rewarded to be able to participate in activities that protect the environment.”

Hyosung Group carries out various activities for environmental conservation every year. Hyosung Advanced Materials regularly conducts environmental cleanup activities at Yongyu Beach on Yeongjongdo, Incheon, a companion beach. Last year, employees from Hyosung Advanced Materials and Hyosung Chemical each carried out plogging activities at the northern end of Mapo Bridge and the Banpo area of the Hangang River, respectively.
