Busan's Premier Startup Event 'BOUNCE 2023' Opens
Opening Ceremony at Asti Hotel Busan on the 7th at 1 PM, Runs Until the 8th
Programs Include Conference, Corporate Investment Briefing, and One-on-One Meetings
A representative startup event in Busan that connects the local startup ecosystem is set to open.
The 7th edition of Busan's flagship startup event, ‘BOUNCE 2023,’ will open on the 7th.
Hosted by Busan City and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and organized by the Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, the event will take place over two days until the 8th.
The opening ceremony will be held at 1 PM on the 7th at the Asti Hotel Busan, kicking off the event with a welcome speech by Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-gwon and congratulatory remarks by Kim Gwang-myeong, Chair of the Planning and Finance Committee of the City Council.
During the opening ceremony, under the keywords ‘local startup ecosystem’ and ‘connection,’ which are the themes of BOUNCE 2023, there will be one-person presentations and a panel talk lasting about an hour featuring Jeon Jeong-hwan, CEO of Community X (Director of Krypton), and Oh Jong-hoon, Co-CEO of Sunbo Angels Partners.
Following the opening ceremony, various programs such as conferences, corporate investment briefings, and one-on-one meetings will be held at venues including Asti Hotel Busan, Busan Eurasia Platform, and Busan Workation Hub Center until the 8th.
Next, the BOUNCE Conference will be held at Asti Hotel Busan. Focusing on the themes of ‘remote work’ and ‘climate tech,’ the conference will address problem-solving within the local startup ecosystem and provide insights into domestic and international local startup ecosystems, along with invited lectures on the sustainability of work (‘work’ and ‘rest’).
On the 8th, startup alliance lounges and blind meetings for startup stakeholders will also take place.
At the Busan Eurasia Platform, various programs such as corporate investment briefings, one-on-one meetings, and networking will be organized into collaboration zones, pitching zones, and meetup zones until the 8th.
In the collaboration zone, as the first joint program with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a JETRO zone will be set up to operate corporate consultation desks, host keynote lectures, and seminars for entry into the Japanese market.
In the pitching zone, 12 startups and 24 investment firms will participate, with startup corporate investment briefings (IR) conducted according to investment scale. Additionally, reverse briefings by investment firms will be held to share the types of startups desired by investors, helping startups secure follow-up investments.
Furthermore, in the meetup zone, over 20 investment firms including Lotte Ventures and POSCO Technology Investment, as well as 26 large and medium-sized enterprises such as Naver Cloud and Samsung Heavy Industries, will participate. The existing investment meetings will be expanded to include open innovation and meetings for entry into major retail chains.
Other programs include the Cross-Border Forum introducing global startup ecosystems that are not well known domestically, and open innovation blind meetings for information sharing among large and medium-sized enterprise practitioners.
Additionally, the Busan Workation Hub Center will host a workation ecosystem forum and operate consultation booths for each workation institution.
The event is open to anyone who registers on-site, and detailed information can be found on the official website.
