MFDS, Sales Suspension Measures
Army Stew exceeding the E. coli standard and onions exceeding the pesticide residue standard were distributed in the market, leading the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) to order a sales suspension.
On the 6th, the MFDS announced that the product 'Budae Jeongol' manufactured by Company I was found to be non-compliant with the E. coli standard and is currently under sales suspension and recall. E. coli mainly proliferates in hot, humid, or unsanitary environments. Infection can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.
The manufacturing date of the product is not indicated, and the distribution and consumption expiration date is until May 17, 2024. The product is packaged in 500g units, and the barcode number is 8809145881015.

The MFDS stated that pesticide residues exceeding the standard were detected in the Chinese 'Fresh Peeled Onions' imported and sold by Company M, leading to sales suspension and recall. The recall target is 20kg packaged onions produced in 2023. The recall method involves contacting secondary and tertiary sellers via phone through the primary seller.
