Namhae Tourism and Culture Foundation Launches Travel Packages Accommodating Pets
First Departure in Busan on September 16, Total of 3 Trial Runs Scheduled
Gyeongnam Namhae Tourism and Culture Foundation announced on the 6th that it has launched a pet-friendly travel package called ‘Namhaeeseo Meongmeong’ in collaboration with PetsGoTravel, a company specializing in pet-friendly travel.
The ‘Namhaeeseo Meongmeong’ travel package is a day trip program departing from Busan, available at an affordable price of 29,000 KRW, attracting significant interest from many pet owners.
According to a 2022 study by the Korea Tourism Organization on activating pet-friendly travel, pet-friendly travel generates an economic ripple effect of approximately 1.396 trillion KRW annually, with an average expenditure per person of 280,000 KRW, which is 3.6 times higher than that of general travelers, making it a high value-added product.
Director Jo Young-ho said, “This product was planned and launched targeting pet owners who face difficulties traveling with their pets,” adding, “Through the launch of pet-friendly travel products and pilot project operations, we will take a step closer to becoming a pet-friendly tourism city.”
