Explanation of Beach Villa Stay Due to Security Construction at Private Residence
U.S. President Joe Biden sparked controversy after saying "I have no home to go to" while explaining his weekend stays at his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
According to foreign media including ABC News and APTN on the 4th, President Biden told reporters at Rehoboth Beach on the 3rd (local time), "I am not on vacation," and added, "I have no home to go to, so I am here for a day."

He then mentioned that the Secret Service (SS), which is responsible for his security, is conducting security-related construction at his residence in Wilmington, Delaware, explaining, "When I come to Delaware, there is nowhere else to go but here."
When reporters asked if he was "homeless," President Biden responded, "I am not homeless," and clarified again, "I have a home, and it is very beautiful. However, I am here because I cannot go to my real home."
In response, Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee criticized him on 'X' (formerly Twitter), with The Hill, a congressional news outlet, reporting that they said, "About 30,000 U.S. veterans are homeless," and "It is unbelievable that Joe Biden, who has two houses plus the White House, said he has nowhere to go."

Earlier, President Biden spent a week-long summer vacation at his Rehoboth Beach house in August.
He faced criticism for delays in visiting the site after a wildfire disaster occurred on Maui Island, Hawaii, shortly after his vacation.
President Biden also took a week-long vacation at a private residence near Lake Tahoe, a tourist destination located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range spanning California and Nevada, following the trilateral summit between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan on the 18th of last month.
When it was revealed that the house was owned by a billionaire investor, the Biden couple stated that they rented it at market price.
