A stabbing incident occurred at a general hospital in Chilgok, Gyeongbuk, resulting in the death of one patient.
According to police and fire authorities on the 4th, at around 3:41 p.m. that day, patient A (56) wielded a weapon on the 6th floor of a general hospital in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongbuk, killing patient B (in his 50s) in the same hospital room on the spot.
Police who responded to a report from a hospital official arrested A on the scene.
It was reported that A and victim B had been using a four-person hospital room by themselves.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including the motive and how the weapon was brought in.

A police official said, "Since it is not a closed ward but an open ward, it is presumed that inspecting personal belongings is not strict," adding, "Considering that A smelled of alcohol, it is possible that he was intoxicated at the time of the crime."
