Ministry of Justice "Enforcement of Criminal Law Related to Child Abuse"
Amid ongoing issues of teachers' rights violations, the Ministry of Education is forming a joint task force with the Ministry of Justice to prevent indiscriminate reports of child abuse against teachers.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice announced in a press release that "on the 2nd, they agreed to form a joint task force to reflect the opinions of on-site teachers appealing for the guarantee of normal educational activities and to improve the reality where legitimate educational activities by teachers are reported as child abuse."
The joint task force for improving law enforcement, including child abuse investigation and prosecution, will also include the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Police Agency to discuss improvement measures.
Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, stated, "Without resolving the issue of educational activity suppression caused by child abuse reports, public education cannot be properly established," and added, "We will promptly take corrective measures to ensure that the wrongful practice of suspending teachers solely based on child abuse reports by metropolitan and provincial offices of education no longer occurs."
