[Photo] Choi Ho-gwon, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor, Cleans Rainwater Drains on Volunteer Day
Choi Ho-gwon, the mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, lent his support to the large-scale cleaning of rainwater drains held on the morning of the 2nd in the Daerim 2-dong area in celebration of Volunteer Day.
'Volunteer Day' is a day when executives of Yeongdeungpo District Office and volunteers carry out joint public-private volunteer activities on the first Saturday of every month. The September Volunteer Day saw about 70 participants divided into two groups to carry out volunteer activities.
Mayor Choi inspected the inside of the rainwater drains in preparation for heavy rains and thoroughly cleaned leaves, cigarette butts, and other debris from the drains. Stickers prohibiting illegal dumping were also posted around the rainwater drains to raise awareness against unauthorized waste disposal.

Choi Ho-gwon, mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, “Since the proclamation ceremony of 'Volunteer Day' in February this year, public and private sectors have cooperated every month to carry out volunteer activities.
