The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 2nd that from the 4th to the 8th, it will carry out tests for harmful substances in hygiene products mainly used by vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
The inspection is organized to ensure the safety of hygiene products and to improve the public health level. It will be conducted along with guidance and supervision targeting hygiene product manufacturers in Ulsan City and its five districts and counties.
The inspection targets include hygiene products manufactured and distributed in Ulsan, such as baby bottle detergents, children's cotton swabs, and diapers for children and adults (including incontinence diapers and diapers supplied to nursing facilities).
The main inspection items are eight harmful substances, including methanol, fluorescent brighteners, and formaldehyde.
If the test results show that harmful substances exceed the standards and specifications, the product name, business office name, and violation details will be reported to the disciplinary authority.
An official from the research institute stated, “We will continue to conduct safety inspections of hygiene products considering changes in the consumer environment to protect citizens' health.”
