Changwon Special City Declares Slogan: 'Eat Vegetarian, Take the Stairs, Stay Energetic'
Promoting Joint Climate Change Actions for a Sustainable Carbon Neutral City
On the 1st, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam declared the slogan "Eat Vegetarian, Take the Stairs, Stay Energetic!" at City Hall.
About 100 people, including Mayor Hong Nampyo and members of the Economic and Welfare Committee, attended the event and declared the slogan for the Healthy City Joint Action. Following this, they conducted the "The Health Campaign" for a healthy daily life. On Healthy City D-Day, attendees encouraged all employees to use the stairs instead of the elevator.

View original imageAdditionally, City Hall and five district offices operate "Vegetarian Day" and "No Leftover Day," and the Changwon Public Health Center holds the "Changwoncheon Plogging Event" with members of community-led walking clubs.
Mayor Hong Nampyo of Changwon Special City said, "I hope this brings us one step closer to realizing a sustainable healthy city where people and the planet coexist."
The Korea Healthy Cities Partnership (KHCP) designated September 5th as Healthy City D-Day to encourage participation from its 103 member cities nationwide, aiming to create healthy cities where people and the planet become healthier together by starting with small actions in daily life in response to climate change.
