On the 31st of last month, EcoProHN signed the third Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on advisory cooperation for next-generation secondary battery material technology with the Seoul National University Engineering Consulting Center at the Seoul National University Faculty Club.
At the signing ceremony, about 20 EcoPro executives and Seoul National University officials attended, including Song Hojun, CEO of EcoPro, Choi Moonho, CEO of EcoProBM, Kim Jongseop, CEO of EcoProHN, Hong Yuseok, Dean of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University, and Kang Kisuk, Professor of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
This agreement was made to activate industry-academia exchanges in the field of secondary battery materials by forming a technical advisory group between EcoProHN and the College of Engineering at Seoul National University.
Over the next year, EcoProHN will receive advice, technical consultation, and consulting on future businesses through regular industry-academia exchanges with the technical advisory group of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University. The focused advisory consulting areas include future battery fields such as all-solid-state batteries, directions for developing large-capacity cells and material response strategies, advice on LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) and SIB (Sodium-Ion Battery) progress, binders for silicon anode materials, advantages and disadvantages and improvement directions of next-generation single-crystal cathode materials, methods to secure cell stability from the cathode material perspective, prospects for next-generation electrolyte additive development, trends in conductive material development, and synthesis technologies. In addition, seminars and mutual discussions on various secondary battery material-related topics will be conducted.
Kim Jongseop, CEO of EcoProHN, said, “As the industry-academia collaboration with Seoul National University enters its third year, we expect not only the development of new technologies in the future industry of secondary battery materials but also their commercialization. We will continue to strengthen industry-academia cooperation for secondary battery material development and actively support the nurturing of specialized talent in related fields within Seoul National University.”
