Icheon 'Haetsare Janghowon Peach Festival' to be Held on the 22nd
3 Days at Janghowon Haetsare Agricultural Products Distribution Center
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 1st that it will hold the 'Haetsare Janghowon Peach Festival' at the Janghowon Haetsare Agricultural Products Distribution Center Peach Festival Site for three days from the 22nd to the 24th.
This year's festival, held for the 27th time, is themed "A Golden Journey with Janghowon Hwangdo!" and will feature various cultural and experiential events such as magic shows, a youth song festival, and the Haetsare Song Festival, the city explained.
Icheon City's Haetsare peaches carry the meaning of being "richly ripened under abundant sunlight." They were recognized for their quality by winning the grand prize at the Fruit Industry Expo held last December.
During the event, consumers who purchase peaches at the farmers' direct sales booths will receive exchange coupons for free Icheon rice or flowers. Various resident participation events such as a peach tasting contest, arm wrestling competition, jokgu (foot volleyball) tournament, and badminton competition will also be held during the festival.
The city will also hold a direct peach market at nearby Seolbong Park and the Lotte Premium Outlet Local Specialty Products Hall in Hobeop-myeon during the event period.
