Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Holds Ceremony for Delivering Smart Devices for Middle and High School Education
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 31st that it held a ceremony for the delivery of smart devices, including educational tablet PCs for middle and high schools, at Gwangju Hwajeong Middle School, where distribution began this year.
The distribution of smart devices for student education is one of Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon's campaign pledges.
The Metropolitan Office of Education signed a supply contract last July and plans to sequentially distribute 85,887 smart devices to 165 schools by the end of September according to the preliminary plan.
This delivery ceremony was held for all 636 students of Hwajeong Middle School, who will receive the smart devices, to commemorate the distribution. Superintendent Lee visited a classroom to personally hand over the devices and encourage the students.
The distribution of smart devices to middle and high schools was planned to introduce Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including AI, into school education.
Going forward, this will activate future education utilizing edutech and ensure students' right to learn.
