Doosan Enerbility Collaborates with Korea Midland Power on Next-Generation Offshore Wind Power Project
Doosan Enerbility is promoting cooperation with Korea Midland Power in the offshore wind power business.
On the 31st, the two companies announced that they signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint development of next-generation offshore wind power and the promotion of offshore wind power projects. They agreed to collaborate across the entire offshore wind power value chain, including research and development, demonstration, and commercialization of next-generation offshore wind power of 20MW or more.

View original imageIn addition, to revitalize the domestic offshore wind power ecosystem, they plan to jointly pursue the creation of large-scale commercial complexes and entry into overseas markets. Doosan Enerbility will carry out next-generation offshore wind power design, manufacturing, and demonstration, while Korea Midland Power will be responsible for related technical support and project promotion.
Jung Yeon-in, President of Doosan Enerbility, said, "For the domestic offshore wind power ecosystem to be revitalized, it is more important than anything else to discover business opportunities that realize product development," adding, "We will do our best to secure a foundation for export growth by establishing global-level technological competitiveness."

Meanwhile, since 2021, Korea Midland Power has been constructing the 100MW Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Power Complex in collaboration with Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Electric Power Technology, Doosan Enerbility, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction. Doosan Enerbility signed a supply contract to manufacture and install 18 units of 5.5MW offshore wind turbines for this complex, followed by a long-term maintenance contract.
