Seodaemun-gu Introduces 'Performance Bonus System' for Public Officials Below Grade 6
Preferential Promotion Based on Performance Starting Second Half of Next Year
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) is introducing a performance bonus system for public officials at grade 6 and below. On the 30th, Seodaemun-gu announced that it plans to implement the performance bonus system to invigorate the organization and enhance the working atmosphere in the public service, and to give preferential treatment in personnel matters to grade 6 and below public officials who have diligently carried out key district administration tasks and priority projects.
The performance bonus system is a system that, according to Article 25-2 of the Local Public Officials Evaluation Rules, awards additional points to outstanding public officials who demonstrate excellent work capabilities in various policy areas, reflecting these points in promotion decisions. To this end, the district plans to revise the "Seodaemun-gu Personnel Regulations of Seoul Special City" next month.
To ensure transparent and fair operation of the performance bonus system, the district will collect opinions from all employees regarding evaluation criteria and finalize the details, then implement the performance bonus evaluations twice a year starting from the second half of next year.

A district official stated, "We plan to establish a 'performance-centered personnel system' through the performance bonus system to give preferential treatment to public officials who improve administrative productivity and competitiveness, which will serve as a driving force to provide residents with enhanced administrative services."
