Pastor of Boarding School Detained and Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Sexual Harassment of North Korean Defector Youth
A famous church pastor accused of sexually assaulting minors at a boarding school for North Korean defector youth, where he was in charge, has been handed over to the prosecution in custody.
On the 30th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Youth Crime Investigation Unit announced that Pastor Cheon (67) was sent to prosecution in custody on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sexual Offenses.
Cheon is accused of sexually assaulting eight minors at a boarding alternative school for North Korean defector youth, where he had been the principal since 2018. On the 20th of last month, the police received a complaint and imposed a travel ban on Cheon. Subsequently, they conducted a search of the alternative school, analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, and summoned Cheon for investigation.

The police applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for Cheon on the 14th.
