Gwanak-gu to Host 2023 Gwanak Lifelong Learning Festival
September 2nd, Gwanak-gu's Representative Education Festival Sharing the Value and Achievements of Lifelong Learning
A place filled with the inspiration of lifelong learning, Gwanak-gu, Seoul’s first lifelong learning city (Mayor Park Junhee), will hold the ‘2023 Gwanak Lifelong Learning Festival’ around the Gwanak-gu Office Plaza on September 2nd.
The ‘2023 Gwanak Lifelong Learning Festival’ is an event based on the theme “Learn GO! Connect GO! Lifelong Learning, Lifelong Happiness!” where learners share their sense of achievement, the value and outcomes of lifelong learning, and residents communicate and harmonize.
This festival is planned and evaluated by the Lifelong Learning Festival Promotion Committee, formed mainly by residents who lead lifelong learning in Gwanak-gu, including lifelong learning campuses, clubs, adult literacy programs, and the Gwanak Citizens Graduate School Alumni Association.
Marking its 7th year, the ‘Gwanak Lifelong Learning Festival’ will open at 11 a.m. on September 2nd with an opening ceremony and declaration, followed by a rich and diverse program including ▲Adult Literacy Festival (photo) ▲Humanities Concert ▲Performances ▲Experiences ▲Exhibitions.
The ‘Adult Literacy Festival’ will showcase the achievements of learners’ literacy education through a senior essay contest and an adult literacy work exhibition, sharing the joy experienced through learning.
The ‘Humanities Concert,’ under the theme “Learn! Connect! Taste of Korea!” will feature in Part 1 the joy of harmony with the brass percussion ensemble ‘Luton.’ Part 2 will present a performance titled ‘Our Sound Blooming Through the Beauty of Writing’ by the master singer Bae Ildong’s team.
Additionally, 37 groups including lifelong learning clubs have prepared various performances, experiences, and exhibitions, offering a wide range of attractions and entertainment for all generations from children to seniors to enjoy together.
Moreover, visitors to the festival will be treated to unique delights such as bubble shows, street magic, and exhibitions and sales of independent publications.
