"Lee Jae-myung 1st Anniversary, Managing Only Hardline Supporters... Unable to Call Gangsters 'Gangsters'"
Kim Ki-hyun "Democratic Party keeps upgrading their shield skills daily"
Fukushima contaminated water dispute continues
"Must stop Goebbels-style outdated street agitation"
Kim Gi-hyeon, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) on the 28th, marking the first anniversary of Lee Jae-myung's inauguration as the party leader, saying, "The Democratic Party has become a Galapagos party detached from public sentiment by only becoming proficient at using and managing a blindly loyal hardline supporter base."
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Kim said, "Over the past year, the Democratic Party has been entirely focused on self-protection, neglecting the livelihood of the people."
Kim pointed out, "Innovation ended in disgrace to the extent that it is laughable for the Democratic Party even to mention the word. Its members are split into two factions as if an earthquake had struck." He added, "They repeatedly engaged in street protests without justification or conditions, like Jo Ja-ryong using an old sword, and their bulletproof skills to protect each other from scandals involving money envelopes, coin gates, and sexual crime allegations have only been upgraded day by day."
He continued, "While the Democratic Party went all-in on self-protection, the livelihood issues that should have been addressed through legislation were continuously pushed aside," criticizing, "It even reached the point of a farce where they could not call organized crime groups 'organized crime groups'."
Earlier, ahead of his prosecution appearance over allegations of remittances to North Korea involving Ssangbangwool, Lee had written on his SNS on the 26th that former Ssangbangwool chairman Kim Seong-tae was a 'gangster,' but later deleted the post.
Kim pointed this out, saying, "How can a party led by a leader and followers who cannot call the top eradication targets in our society?organized crime groups and thugs?by their names, and who nervously watch the gangsters' reactions, be considered a normal public party? If they had done nothing wrong, there would be no need to watch the gangsters' reactions. If they are in a position where they must watch and please the gangsters, isn't that an admission of being accomplices with them?"
The controversy over Fukushima nuclear plant contaminated water also continued. Kim said, "I politely request that they stop the street protests that stubbornly insist on unreasonable claims and use outdated Nazi Goebbels-style propaganda and agitation."
Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party, also raised his voice, saying, "Despite repeatedly stating that the Democratic Party's agitation over contaminated water only leads to a boycott of our seafood and causes great international embarrassment, their stubborn refusal to acknowledge this is deeply regrettable." He added, "The Democratic Party does not hesitate to divide public opinion and plunge the country into chaos to protect a party leader embroiled in criminal allegations, which is truly deplorable."
