Gwangju Seo-gu Holds 'Reading Month Events' at Four Libraries
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) will hold a variety of "Reading Month Events" at four public libraries in Seo-gu throughout September.
On the 25th, Seo-gu announced that to encourage residents' participation in reading, unique reading culture programs will be operated at Sangnok Library, Children's Ecology Learning Library, Seo-gu Public Library, and Seobitmaru Library.
Sangnok Library will hold events such as ▲Meet the Authors (Authors Kim Hansol of "Even if Lazy, I Want to Travel" and Kim Miju of "What if Chat GPT Steals My Mind?") ▲Making Colored Plaster Air Fresheners ▲Reading Books and Receiving Gifts.
The Children's Ecology Learning Library has prepared programs including ▲What Will Come Out? Draw Your Luck! ▲Damaged Books Exhibition ▲Meetings with Author Hong Jong-ui of "The Child Who Sells Stamps" and Seal Engraver Shin Kyungsik ▲Precious World (Upcycling) ▲Making Resin Art Grip Tok.
Also, Seo-gu Public Library will host cultural programs such as ▲A lecture by author Choi Eunok of the "Pick As You Like" series ▲Making Your Own Resin Art Keyring ▲Making Colorful Plaster Air Fresheners and Traditional Dancheong Straps.
At Seobitmaru Library, which opened last month, experiential events such as ▲Rewriting Music, Fusion Gugak Performance ▲Read a Book and Play Book Bingo! ▲Making Scented Suncatchers ▲Making Everlasting Flowers, Herbarium Ballpoint Pens will be held.
Park Mihui, Director of Education and Library at Seo-gu Office, said, "We hope that many residents will participate in various reading culture events at the libraries during Reading Month in September, have enjoyable experiences, and become closer to books."
