Former Sogang University Director Who Opposed President's Dismissal Loses 300 Million Won Compensation Lawsuit
A former director who was expelled after opposing the dismissal of former President Park Jong-gu at the Sogang University Board of Trustees lost a civil lawsuit against the board.
The 14th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court (Presiding Judge Lee Jin-ung) ruled on the 24th that former Sogang University director Lee Mo, who filed a lawsuit against the chairman of the Sogang University Board of Trustees seeking to nullify the board's resolution and claim 300 million won in damages, lost the case.
The court stated, "The plaintiff's principal and alternative claims are dismissed," and "The plaintiff shall bear the litigation costs."

Mr. Lee was dismissed from his position as a director of Sogang University in 2020 while raising objections to the dismissal procedure of President Park. Subsequently, in November of the same year, he filed a lawsuit seeking confirmation that the board's resolution was invalid.
