Gwangju Nam-gu Completes Construction of Juwol Life Culture Center in Mudeung Market
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has completed the construction of the Juwol Living Culture Center, a cultural gathering place inside Mudeung Market.
According to Nam-gu on the 24th, the Juwol Living Culture Center was built as a three-story building on the site of a public parking lot within Mudeung Market.
After being selected in 2021 for the "Living SOC Complex Project" contest hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the existing market merchants' video education building was completely renovated and expanded over the course of more than two years.
The soon-to-open Juwol Living Culture Center will serve as a place for cultural and leisure activities for residents of Juwol-dong village, as well as for youth and market merchants.
The first floor will be used as office space for the Market Merchants Association, while the second and third floors will be utilized as the living culture center’s main functions, including a gathering room and learning spaces.
In particular, the newly expanded third floor includes spaces for various small group meetings and program activities, as well as practice rooms for musical instruments.
