Korea Petroleum Industry Signs MOU with Keimyung University to Promote 'KP Group Open Innovation'
Korea Petroleum Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Seung-mo / Kim Deuk-bo), the leading domestic manufacturer of industrial asphalt, announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation’s ‘Intel Center’ to promote the ‘KP Group Open Innovation.’
Korea Petroleum Industry (KP) signed an agreement with Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation and the Intelligent Construction System Core Support Center (hereinafter referred to as Intel Center) to activate the ‘KP Group Open Innovation’ and strengthen the network. The main content of the agreement is to develop and verify new technologies and enhance technological competitiveness through close mutual exchange and cooperation. To this end, each institution will mutually exchange research personnel and continue mutual cooperation in the use of equipment and facilities.
Through this agreement, Korea Petroleum Industry plans to apply the developed technologies to existing businesses and use them to strengthen technological competitiveness. The company aims to expand the applications of its main product, asphalt, diversify its product lineup, and discover new technologies to secure new growth engines for the company.
Additionally, this agreement plans to strengthen connections with the family companies of Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation. By linking with approximately one thousand family companies of the Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, participation in the ‘KP Group Open Innovation’ will be promoted, thereby continuously expanding the open innovation ecosystem.
A representative of Korea Petroleum Industry stated, “We have high expectations for cooperating with the two institutions under Keimyung University, which possess excellent human and material resources, and we plan to maintain smooth mutual cooperation to develop new technologies and discover new growth engines.” He added, “Korea Petroleum Industry will continue to strengthen collaboration with various partners and do its best to activate the ‘KP Group Open Innovation.’”
