Suwon City Village Lawyer Program to Expand to All Districts

View original imageThe city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will expand the Suwon Village Lawyer program, which was previously operated in 9 neighborhoods, to all neighborhoods starting in September.
On the 22nd, Suwon City held an appointment ceremony for the 'Suwon Village Lawyers' at the Suwon Youth Support Center and appointed 45 lawyers.
The Suwon Village Lawyers consist of attorneys registered with the Gyeonggi Central Bar Association, and their term is two years.
The appointment ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Suwon, and the Suwon Village Lawyers.
Starting next month, Suwon citizens will be able to receive free legal consultations through the Village Lawyers for legal issues arising in daily life.
Consultations will be conducted remotely (by phone or email). Citizens can apply by visiting the administrative welfare center responsible for their resident registration or through the 'Saebit Toktok' application bulletin board.

Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon said, "Due to requests from residents in neighborhoods beyond the initially operated 9 neighborhoods, we have expanded the service citywide so that any citizen can receive legal services. I ask the Suwon Village Lawyers to assist citizens in all 44 neighborhoods who face difficulties with legal matters and lawsuits, helping to lower the seemingly high threshold of the law."
